wedding associationAre sliding images at the top of websites dead?

I think the answer is YES and there is little need for them.

And unless you are a videographer or live band or DJ, no background video either!

Here is the case against them…

1) They are distracting.

2) They don’t create a great first impression like you think they do.

3) No one stops and clicks through them.

4) No one stops and watches them rotate.

5) 99.9% of the the sliders I’ve seen at wedding sites add very little value to the visitor experience, and the visitor experience is a critically important issue when it comes to conversion.

Just because you see everyone using them doesn’t mean they work!

That’s worth repeating: Just because you see everyone using them doesn’t mean they work!

Instead of sliding images at the top of a page, I recommend you use one very good image, an image that communicates who you are, what you do, and that you have happy clients.

I might even suggest you put a testimonial under it. SOCIAL PROOF is a key factor in turning website visitors into inquiries, phone calls, appointments, and ultimately sales.

Don’t get me wrong, images play a VERY important role at your website. But multiple “sliders” are not helping you get more inquiries and book more weddings – I guarantee it.
