Q: My Gmail inbox is out of control and I’m trying to do some clean-up and get to a ZERO INBOX. Do you know a command where I can quickly search and bring up all of the email that is UNREAD in my Gmail inbox?

A: First, good luck with the “zero inbox” thing. I’ve been trying for years!

The quick and easy way to do this is to:

(1) Go to your Gmail inbox

(2) Use the following command in the search box at the top

:is:unread label:inbox

(3) What you see on the next screen will be everything in your Inbox that is UNREAD

You’ll find more Gmail command line options at this link: https://support.google.com/mail/answer/7190?hl=en

You can also type the ? key (shift-/) WHILE IN GMAIL and a list of all shortcuts will open on your screen.
